Negative taken of December 6, 1964, Arkansas gazette article "Pulaski County Family Wins Top Award for Year," 4A:2. The William Claiborne Cunningham family of Wrightsville, Pulaski County, Arkansas was named the Negro Farm Family of the Year for working to build a 750 acres farm inherited in 1946 laden with debts into a $100,000 farm in 1964. They began farming with only a team of horses and very poor equipment. By 1964 they were growing alfalfa, soybeans, wheat, cotton and cattle. The recognition program was held at Arkansas Argricultural Mechanical and Normal (A.M. & N) College (now University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff) in Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas.
